Some Things Are Made to Be Replaced. This Isn't One of Them.

Handcrafted live edge tables from century-old black walnut and oak — built to outlast the generation that buys them. Because a tree that grew for 80 years deserves more than 8 years on someone’s floor.

THE PROBLEM WE SEE

12 Million +

Tons

of furniture sent to landfills every year in North America alone.

Most furniture is designed with an expiration date — particle board, veneer, disposable joints — built to last a move or two, then hauled to the curb.

We’ve normalized a cycle of buying, discarding, and replacing things that were never meant to stay.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

Every piece of furniture that lasts a lifetime is one less piece in a landfill.

Every table that gets passed down is a tree that didn't die in vain。

Sustainability isn’t about buying “green” products. It’s about buying fewer things that actually last. We don’t chase trends. We build against them.

THE PERSON BEHIND THIS

"If a tree spent 80 years becoming a piece of wood, the least we can do is make something worthy of that time."

Friends often ask me: "Why choose the hard way? Why obsess over these raw slabs when you could just take the easy path in the family business?"

My answer is simple: This isn't just wood. To me, A slab that spent six years drying in a warehouse has a patience built into it that no kiln can replicate.. Crafting pieces that outlive trends and making a tangible impact on sustainability isn't just a business; it's my calling.

They move from the wild into your home to become a silent witness to your life—the family dinners, the late-night heart-to-hearts, the memories that grow within your walls.

Our mission is a cycle of gratitude.

Because we take from nature, we must give back. By committing 1% of our revenue to reforestation, every piece you bring home plants a new life. My aim is to one day walk through a forest planted by every table we've ever sold.

A tree is a reflection of a human life.

We start small, and as we grow stronger, we begin to protect those around us. A tree does the same—spending a lifetime breathing for the planet and shielding its ecosystem. At MONOWOODSTUDIO, we believe its story shouldn't end when it stops breathing.

HOW WE BUILD

Three Promises, No Compromise

1. Honest Materials

Only solid wood — black walnut, white oak, and hand-selected live edge slabs.

No particle board, no veneer, no shortcuts.

Every slab spends 6–8 years air-drying before it comes near a saw — then brought to 8% moisture content. Industry standard uses weeks. We use years.

2. A Finish That Breathes

Three coats of German Osmo Polyx-Oil applied directly to open grain — no sealant, no primer.

The wood can breathe, age naturally, and develop a patina that gets more beautiful with every year.

3. Built Around You

Every piece starts with a conversation, not a catalog.

We learn how you live, where this table will sit, and who will gather around it.

Then we build something that fits your life — not the other way around.

OUR COMMITMENT TO THE PLANET

Buying From Us Is an Act of Conservation

One Table, New Trees

For every table we sell, we fund the planting of trees through reforestation partners. You receive a certificate with your order — a small but trackable act.

Radical Transparency

Every product page tells you the species, origin, approximate tree age, moisture content, and finish process. Honesty matters more than perfection.

The 20-Year Queston

We don’t ask “will this sell?” We ask “will this still be in someone’s home for at least 20 years?” If the answer isn’t yes, we don’t make it. Longevity is the most sustainable material of all.
